Rehab Office Coordinator (Full-time w/Benefits; Days) at Nicklaus Children's Health System in Miami, Florida

Job Description:


Job Summary:
Coordinates the rehabilitation department’s office organization. Serves as a lead person for the Rehab Aide team. Provides assistance with patient care activities as needed. Assists therapist with troubleshooting and problem solving of office issues. Utilizes infection control policies to routinely maintain cleanliness of equipment and toys. Responsible for assisting with the planning, organizing and implementation of community based marketing events and employee events.
 
Minimum Job Requirements:


  • American Heart Association (AHA) CPR AED - must maintain active and in good standing throughout employment.

  • Previous customer service or clerical experience required

Essential Job Duties:


  • Greets patients and families using the Rehab Kit to explain the next steps after evaluation.

  • Coordinates, collects, organizes and scans Rehabilitation Services data/information as directed.

  • Faxes/mails/receives and monitors Plan of Care “POC” for evaluations, re-evaluation, and additional treatment.

  • Responsible for tracking and following-up on incomplete POCs with doctors’ offices and/or patients.

  • Prepares and maintains logs and databases for POCs, charges, and transfers using Treatment queues in PEDS.

  • Reconciles charges and monitors the corrections of any missed charges.

  • Responsible for following the discharge process of patients accounts.

  • Assists Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapists with patient care activities/events with direct supervision as needed.

  • Follows procedures in maintaining environment of care of designated equipment and keeps treatment area organized and orderly.

  • Reports unsafe equipment or conditions to Manager or Supervisor upon their discovery and assists in recovery.

  • Screens and/or routes incoming calls/messages appropriately.


  • Coordinates care of Early Steps patients through continued process and monthly maintenance of required documentation.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Minimum of 2 years of college level course work preferred

  • Previous healthcare experience preferred

  • Spanish proficiency preferred

  • Previous work experience with children preferred

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical skills to perform light repair and maintenance of equipment

  • Able to take direction from wide variety of professionals in Rehabilitative Services

  • Able to maintain calm in stressful situations

  • Excellent customer service skills


  • Good organizational skills
