We are looking for a Technical Writer who is responsible for developing and updating technical publications used by internal and external clients.  Also, responsible for the development and release of new product technical material including, but not limited to, product instruction manuals, parts lists, product training presentations, and other necessary documents to communicate complex and technical information. 

Job Responsibilities:


  • Draft, release, control, and maintain technical documentation, including User/Training Manuals, Specification Sheets and Technical Bulletins.

  • Analyze controlled technical documentation and records to verify requirements and specifications, formatting, content, and accuracy.

  • Create all graphics and illustrations that accompany Technical and Marketing material.

  • Coordinate and assist any work in developing documentation for required languages.

  • Develop information architecture and catalog of technical documentation.

  • Standardize method of data collection and communication of technical information.

  • Assist CAD group and complete Engineering drawing changes as required.

  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

Job Requirements:


  • Must have a Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Technology, English, Journalism, Communication or related field preferred.  Will also consider Technical Degree or other related degree.

  • Must have at least 1 year of experience as a Technical Writer or related position. 

  • Must have experience in technical communications focused on creating customer-facing publications for industrial equipment, electronics, or software.

  • Must have experience writing for/to different audiences and reading comprehension levels (DITA-structural writing principles). 

  • Must be able to create multi-chapter manuals using Adobe InDesign or related graphic and illustration programs experience. 

  • Must be able to understand and interpret technical information, specifications, and drawings.  Mechanical aptitude a plus.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe CC (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) and Outlook.  Solidworks experience highly desired but not required.

  • Must have excellent integrity, initiative, interpersonal savvy, adaptable, problem solving, plan and organize, attention to detail, accountable, assertive, innovation and safety skills.

  • Must have excellent writing skills including outstanding English grammar.

  • Must have excellent communication skills because of daily contact with production, engineering, supply chain and quality departments.  Must communicate in a clear and concise manner, have good listening skills and be confident, assertive, and respectful.

  • Must be fluent in English which includes reading: the ability to read and understand words written in English, writing: the ability to formulate written words in English, comprehending: the ability to follow and understand speech in English and speaking: the ability to produce speech in English and be understood.

  • Must possess basic math skills.

  • Must possess critical thinking skills.

  • Must be able to pass background check, drug test and reference checks.
