Are you ready to join a dynamic team responsible for deploying high value industrial automation solutions?  We are looking for an exceptional leader to join the Applications Engineering Team of the world leading Emerson Automation Solutions Performance Services business.

The Application Engineer provides services and support for Emerson’s Control and Operator Performance, Process Simulation, and Industrial Ethernet solutions, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and service excellence. The individual in this position will be responsible for front end engineering efforts; system build and technology validation; and on-site services and remote support including product specification, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and upgrade services. The Application Engineer will report to the Application Engineering Manager, Process Simulation.



AS AN APPLICATION ENGINEER, YOU WILL: 


  • Develop an understanding of process control systems and the instrumentation involved in the control of a process.

  • Deliver Digital Twin HW/SW design and engineering service projects using Mimic Simulation Software with DeltaV Simulate and other 3rd party applications.

  • Install and configure AgileOps software solutions on customers’ control systems, including Emerson DeltaV and other platforms. Execute Industrial Ethernet I/O Network design and integration consulting projects.

  • Provide 2nd level customer technical support for Mimic Simulation Software, AgileOps Software and DeltaV related Industrial Ethernet products via Emerson Global Service Center. Technical support is delivered using Web-based support, conference calls, and on-site visits.

  • Provide technical direction and support for the use of Mimic Simulation Software within the Emerson Cloud-Hosting architecture.

  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and documentation related to software technology testing and deployment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer preferred) 

  • Excellent written, visual and verbal communication skills

  • Must meet background check, drug testing and safety training requirements for access to customer sites

  • Must have valid TWIC card or be eligible to obtain TWIC card

  • Must have valid driver’s license to drive into customer’s sites

  • Ability to travel up to 50%, including internationally if needed

  • Ability to meet project deadlines and maintain consistency with existing project schedules

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  


  • An understanding of regulatory control topics such as initialization, overrides, and wind-up

  • Experience with downloading and updating configuration on a running process

  • Proficiency with Windows Server with IIS, Microsoft SQL, virtualization platforms, and networking.

  • Experience with point configuration of the Honeywell TPS, TDC and Experion Platforms including: HPM, APP/AM, and C300 is a plus

  • Experience in software installation, server maintenance, product configuration assistance, or related areas is a plus

  • Proven leadership skills and positive customer and sales force interaction

  • Prior experience with control systems in process industries strongly desired

  • Experience with alarm management software is a plus

  • OPC with DCOM knowledge is a plus

  • Familiarity or experience working with Industrial Ethernet I/O Networks

  • Understanding communication protocols and simulation software is a plus

Additional Information


  • Travel required (up to 50%). Some travel may be International.
