Overview

Huitt-Zollars' Houston, Texas office has an excellent full-time career opportunity for a Civil Engineer Graduate EIT with a BSCE Degree from an accredited University. This opportunity is for a New Graduate with 0 to 4 years of experience, advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation. The role will work collaboratively in a team environment providing engineering design for public works infrastructure and transportation projects.

Responsibilities:

Produce design plans for public agency projects; roads, streets, storm drain, sewer, water and reclaimed water, trails, schools, utilities, site, and civil facilities
• Plan production will include preparations of plan and profiles of streets and other underground utilities


• Assist project manager with of design plans, specifications, construction support, cost estimating, geotechnical coordination


• Produce design and construction drawings incorporating information from supervisor, research data and consultants for various projects including land development grading, utility, drainage, paving plans,


• Research materials and assemblies for design and construction drawings as directed by supervisor


• Conduct site visits and assist with documenting findings


• Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes, and assist with general project correspondence


• Compose and prepare graphic materials for presentations and documents

Requirements:

• BS in Civil Engineering (BSCE)


• 0-4 years' related experience


• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam is a plus


• Proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel


• Capability to utilize AutoCAD


• Strong organizational skills


• Good Communication Skills


• Works well in a Team Environment


• Thorough attention to detail

Added Skills:

• Advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or GIS is a plus


• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods and techniques


• Ability to prepare civil engineering documents and specifications for projects


• Ability to read redlines and modify drawings accurately
