The Desktop Support Technicianwill ensure proper computer operation so that the Company's end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes setting up personal computers, troubleshooting hardware and software problems, and maintaining network connectivity to applications, intranet, and internet.
Detailed Description:
Image personal computers and configure the machine for use by Company's employees
Efficiently respond to trouble ticket requests submitted by the Company's end user community
Promptly resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
Detect and remove viruses, mal-ware, and spy-ware from personal computers
Perform backups and restoration of personal computer hard drives
Create, modify, and apply personal computer images of hard drives
Must be able to take initiative and work independently during downtime
Initiate timely communication with supervisors and ask questions when resolution of issues is unclear
Maintain a high level of confidentiality with all information obtained
Follow Company protocols, procedures and controls in performing assigned duties
Accurately maintain computer inventory
Consistently meet requirements for maintaining off-site storage of back-up tapes
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Excellent clear and effective communication skills for troubleshooting computer and network problems through phone calls and email
Logical, organized work skills including the prioritization and timely resolution of computer problems
Proficient knowledge of current Microsoft client operating systems and Microsoft productivity suite
Proficient knowledge of current personal computer hardware components
Understanding of data flow throughout the local area network and wide area network
Understanding of network components such as network switches, Ethernet cables, and Ethernet cards
Demonstrate a sense of urgency and drives for results and closure of open items
Ability to work overtime when required
Able to travel to local offices
Proficient in the navigation and configuration of current Microsoft client operating systems, Ethernet networks and personal computer hardware
Ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines and maintain a calm and professional demeanor when adversity is encountered
Must be able to work some overtime including weekend or holidays.
MinimumQualifications:
At least 3 years of desktop support experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or closely related field
A+ certification
Previous work experience in an office environment using ServiceNow, Okta, AWS Workspaces, Microsoft Intune and Office 365
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily in a climate controlled / office environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone and other office equipment.
