Summary: The Director, Regional Finance leads the region finance team in the execution of the management of K12 corporate finance activities and oversees the delivery of contracted financial services to the K12 client schools.

• Advise on regional profitability and business unit management;


• Direct forecasting and budgeting cycle for the region;


• Monitor controls and compliance with corporate financial policies;


• Support regional business leaders in decision support and analysis;


• Oversee and manage the work and activities of all regional finance staff;


• Support corporate audit requirements to include revenue assurance, and analytic support;


• Oversee regional financial compliance with SOX and other programmatic and statutory compliance regimes;


• Control and protect the assets of K12;


• Oversee the risk analysis and management process in the region;


• Support the business development team and the RVP with new program development;


• Advise regional business leaders on resource optimization questions;


• Lead the region finance team in the delivery of contracted financial services to the K12 client schools;


• Oversee the stewardship of public funds towards the efficient and effective execution of the mission of the client programs;


• Support the HOS and RVPs in the management of financial matters with the independent school boards and state regulators;


• Assist in the direction of the financial management and grants, and other restricted funding;


• Prepare monthly forecasts and budgets for the client programs;


• Assist in the preparation of capital and grant budgets for client programs;


• Direct the filing of all required statutory reporting for the client program;


• Manage program financial audits as required;


• Customize, establish, and implement financial policies for each client program;


• Oversee accounting, reporting, and cash-management activities from assigned accounting support;


• Reconcile and manage payments and reimbursements to and from K12, Inc. relating to client programs.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 5 - 8 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Minimum RequiredQualifications:

• Ten (10) years of public accounting and financial reporting experience AND


• Three (3) years of experience managing people OR


• Equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates and Licenses: None required.

Other Required Qualifications:

• Understanding of accounting processes, procedures and internal controls


• Strong research and analysis skills


• Able to work well as part of a team


• Customer service orientation


• Possess very good communication skills - written and verbal


• Excellent time management and organizational skills


• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems


• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word


• Ability to travel 25% of the time


• Ability to clear required background check

DesiredQualifications:

• Advanced degree in related field


• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
