As a truck mechanic for Maverik you will repair, recondition, and maintain equipment. Other responsibilities include, diagnose, troubleshoot, test, measure and adjust equipment systems and components. Communicate effectively with the Shop Manager, Transportation Director, Team Leads and Drivers to ensure problems, nature of repair, and status of repairs are understood and followed up on.  Follow all safe work practices and company requirements and keep up to date with developments in tooling, technologies, and systems.

What You’ll do as a Truck Mechanic:

• Prepare inspection and appraisal reports accurately and in a timely manner.


• Communicate effectively with leadership to ensure problems, nature of repair, and status are understood and followed up on.


• Prepare, inspect, and operate machines prior to delivery.


• Determine reusability of parts in accordance with published warranty guidelines.


• Follow safe working practices and all company safety requirements.


• Maintain a clean and organized work area.


• Make recommendations as to repairs meeting warranty criteria.

You’ll be a Great Fit if You Have:

• HS Diploma/GED preferred; technical school education a plus. 
  


• 5+ years of experience as a Mechanic, or assistant manager in heavy equipment, engine, or preventive maintenance repair preferred.


• Welding and fabrication skills. 


• Tanker experience and CDL preferred.


• Basic customer service, organizational and communication skills.


• Safety knowledge, basic truck, and tanker trailer product knowledge.


• Basic computer skills (type service reports and communicate through email).


• Basic math, reading, writing, and reasoning skills.


• Must be able to communicate effectively in English.

Qualifications: Physical Demands 

• Stand, Walk and Sit (Frequently) - Activity takes up to 66% of time 
  


• Handling, reach outward/above shoulder, clime/crawl, squat, kneel, bend and lift 10-100 lbs. (Occasionally) - Activity takes up to 33% of time

• Vison and sense of sound


• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
