Core Responsibilities

• Establish ownership of oversight and operational support responsibilities for regulatory and associated technical support to effectively and efficiently manage Con Edison's efforts in EHS Design Review and other program responsibility areas.


• Lead and coach a group of technical SMEs, motivating and developing to continuously improve individual and team performance.


• Annually establishes individual performance goals for all team members, capturing clear expectations with timelines and measures to evaluate employee performance


• Serve as a change agent, identifying and pursuing quantifiable process improvements to strengthen companywide compliance while reducing operational complexity and costs.


• Provide leadership to applicable coordinator networks, teaming with operations to ensure company-wide alignment and a shared ownership of compliance with program requirements.


• Serve as the Company's primary liaison with applicable governmental agencies, managing all official communications to applicable area of responsibility agencies, including critical correspondence.


• Interface with Law and Real Estate as needed on EHS regulatory issues related to program area responsibilities.


• Provide technical and administrative support to organizations undertaking applicable projects; submitting required reports and filings and securing agency authorizations (variances, permits, etc.).


• Demonstrate a strong customer focus in working with the operating organizations, responding to applicable incidents and providing any needed support or direction.


• Support operating areas with internal EHS process checks and conducts internal post-incident root cause analysis of applicable non-compliance incidents.


• Develop and deliver presentations to Senior Management on program developments and status.


• Maintain needed systems to manage required recordkeeping, including reports, filings, and permits.


• Provide SME support and direction on required employee training.


• Demonstrate a drive for results in assisting operating departments in developing cost-effective and efficient compliance strategies for applicable activities.


• Provide EHS support to Central Engineering represent their interest on internal teams, facilitating the weekly safety call, and ensuring required EHS training and follow-up associated with EHS incidents.


• Effectively communicate EHS information to Central Engineering and other Company engineering organizations.


• Provide advice and council to EHS Vice President and staff, Central Engineering, other Company engineering organizations, and operating organizations.


• Engender and support a culture of honesty, integrity, openness, and inclusion regarding EHS issues.


• Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.policy and governmental regulations.

Required Education/Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline such as safety, engineering, physical science, or biologicxal science And 8 years work experience, with a minimum of three (3) added years relevant experience in the EHS field. Or


• Bachelor's Degree in a non-technical discipline ( e.g., business, social sciences, etc.) And 8 years work experience, with a minimum of five (5) added years relevant experience in the EHS field.

Required Work Experience

• Must also have EHS experience with design review and construction projects and have managed EHS concerns for both Company and contractor workforces who perform design, construction, and maintenance activities. Required


• Must also have a working knowledge of the Company's various business units. Required


• Must have working knowledge of environmental and safety laws and regulations as well as Company policies and procedures. Required


• Must have proven ability to lead team and Company work forces. Required


• Must possess exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills to enable success when dealing with all levels of Company workers, contractors, and regulators. Req

Other Physical Demands

• Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.


• Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
