GENERAL DESCRIPTION - PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The position of Pre-Side Receiving Tech is designed as a monitoring, auditing and inspecting raw materials that ensures compliance to company, regulatory and industry established specifications and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Evaluation of physical, chemical and sanitary characteristics of ingredients.


• Constant evaluation of appearance, chemical, physical and sanitary integrity of all raw materials received into the facility.


• Routine evaluation of ingredient integrity and compliance to regulatory guidelines.


• Isolation, segregation and re-evaluation of materials deemed to be non-compliant with regard to established specification.


• Both routine and non-routine collection of test data, sending and receiving analytical samples and results as well as process problem solving and trouble shooting.


• Technicians must honestly, neatly and completely document their observations so informed decisions regarding quality can be made.


• Support Operators with supplying the raw materials for daily operations.


• Support Operator with disassembling and assembling of 290 pumps and emulsifiers to company specifications.


• Wash and Sanitize area on a weekly basis while following SSOP's.


• Cross train on the slurry lines to cover in absence of the Meat Operator.


• Work with receiving clerk to obtain correct documentation of materials supplied to the facility from vendors.


• Document proper information and Analytics into SAP.


• Climb ladders routinely to sample & inspect raw materials from a semi-trailer.


• Use of a 2-man lift to inspect ingredient bin in the mill tower as well as inspection in the silo area daily.


• Daily cleaning and sanitizing the transition area of the unloading bay.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to climb 12 foot ladders.


• Ability to climb up a 3 story ladder with a safety enclosure as required.


• Forklift Certification Required.


• Be able to endure extreme temperatures and wet conditions.


• Record keeping, and organizational skills.


• Ability to read, write and understand English.


• Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.


• High School diploma or GED.

PREFERRED SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as SOP's, and safety documents.


• Understands the importance of safety and quality.


• 2 or more years in food manufacturing with production floor experience.


• Detail oriented and able to multi-task.
