Responsibilities

New York Institute of Technology- College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks a Research Technician to work in the Department of Bio-medical Sciences at our Long Island (Old Westbury) campus. Under the direction of the Assistant Professor, the Research Technician will be responsible for the following:

    Conduct and assist with general molecular biology experiments under the direction of principal investigator.
  • Purifying DNA samples, analyzing PCR samples from mice, taking care of the mouse lines, and generating NGS libraries.

  • Assist with routine maintenance of Dr. Yingtao Zhao's lab.

  • Order and monitor research supplies and equipment.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Science or related area.

  • Must have knowledge of Biology.

  • Field of expertise in hands-on mouse works is preferred.

  • Basic laboratory skills such as pipetting, PCR for genotyping, and taking care of mice is preferred.

  • Basic Biological knowledge needed.
