Job Description:

Starting Wage $27.45

Key Responsibilities


  • Main resource and 1st responder to line calls for assigned zone and expected to flow to the work in other zones and cover vacation and call-in gaps

  • Drives completion of PMs in assigned zone while working closely with team leaders

  • Drives completion of work orders assigned to zone while working closely with team leaders

  • Functions as the equipment expert in assigned zone

  • Responsible for performing advanced PMs on equipment

  • Write, implement, and troubleshoot PLC code on new and existing equipment

  • Able to troubleshoot and replace VFD's, encoders, motors, servos, and sensors as needed

  • Read and understand electrical & mechanical drawings and plant controls

  • Able to redline electrical schematics to document changes as needed

  • Ability to accurately identify, understand, troubleshoot and repair electrical devices and components

  • Understand, implement, and troubleshoot PLC Code on new and existing equipment

  • Internal and external vendor communication

  • Serve as a coach and teacher, motivating teams, and developing their capabilities through training and support

  • Responsible for meeting Safety, Quality, and Reliability targets

  • Functioning as a problem solver, proactively anticipating problems, drive to root cause, consider alternatives, and follow-up actions

  • Promote a continuous improvement culture

  • Embraces and champions positive change

  • Responsible to collaborate across all teams, pillars, and leadership

  • Lead and participate in improvement projects and plant control upgrades

    Requirements


    • Good computer skills

    • Positive work history

    • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision


    • Solid understanding of Rockwell PLC hardware, PLC programming, VFDs, and HMI

    • Solid understanding of servos, encoders, linear actuators, pneumatic equipment, and sensors

    • Strong ability to access and comprehend technical manuals via the internet, and interact with external technical resources while addressing problems

    • Effective leadership skills including:

      • Problem solving (analytical troubleshooting processes)

      • Ability to make decisions under pressure

      • Good interpersonal skills

      • Communication (effective listening, giving and receiving feedback)

      • Time management

      • Managing multiple priorities

      • Process improvement

      • Organization




    • Willing to work overtime and weekends when business need requires

    • Forklift certified

    • Perform the necessary physical activity for purposes of operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment including:

      • Climbing stairs and ladders, standing on, and moving around on platforms, equipment and concrete floors

      • Twist or bend at the knees and back

      • Lift objects up to 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques

      • Stand and walk for extended hours



    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    High-school degree or equivalent is required.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, GMP's and general instructions. Good communication skills are required.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out both oral and written instructions.

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly to stand and walk at minimum 85% of the time.

    • The employee must be able to work 8 hours shifts with Saturday overtime when required.

    • The employees must occasionally push or pull up to 100 pounds and should be able to lift 30-35 pounds on a frequent basis.

    • The employee must be able to squat or kneel and to bend on an occasional basis.

    • The employee must be able to work in a warm environment (could exceed 90 degrees) in the summer months.

    • The employee must be able to tolerate exposure to allergens in our plant of milk, eggs, wheat, fish, tree nuts and soy.

    • The employee must be able to climb steps on a frequent basis.

    • The noise level in the work environment is above 85 decibels and hearing protection is required.

    VISION

    Employee is required to have a minimum of 20/40 vision in each eye with or without corrective lenses. The applicant must pass a standard eye exam.
