Job Description Summary

Lamb Weston is a $3B, global, Fortune 1000 company. The Manager-Master Data will establish and lead our Global Master Data Governance process, manage all enterprise-wide master data governance activities, and lead the master data stewards team. The position will partner with our Lamb Weston Meijer team for consistent processes and governance. Additionally, focusing on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, administration with relevant regulatory, legal, and ethical mandates. The role is responsible for organizing and leading a team of Global Data Stewards in establishing, maintaining, and communicating data standards, and practices, both at the department and Business and Functional areas level, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality, and protection to meet overall business needs. Achieving customer data requirements is also embedded in this organization.

The Manager Master Data serves as a point of escalation for governance, data quality and protection issues and partner with Business and Functional area leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets, process and system program priorities and projects as well as support the strategic requirements of the department.

Job Description

  • Implement and manage a global master data organization.

  • Consolidate teams across the company into one centralized and global team.

  • Centralize processes for data management and data quality from multiple systems into one standard set of processes.

  • Identify and standardize the use and governance of information in support of the overall global business strategy.

  • Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities.

  • Identify new types and sources of data to drive business innovation throughout the organization.

  • Define processes for the effective, integrated introduction of new data.

  • Oversee data stewardship business process descriptions and process models/maps.

  • Define and manage policies and programs which advance the role of business data stewards in alignment with legal, security around sensitive data, and corporate risk.

  • Work with Global Data Stewards to develop data standards and rules for cleansing, mapping, integrating, managing, and establishing hierarchies for key company data.

  • Provide leadership in the areas of data governance, master data management, data migration to the process & system teams during blueprinting, deployment, and steady state operations activities.

  • Evolve and institutionalize behaviors for the appropriate use of information within changing privacy needs, ethical values, and cultural norms.

  • Lead a data governance council.

  • Work with the Enterprise Data Architect and business functions to roll out an enterprise-wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools, and data architecture.

  • Work closely with IT to support the evolution of multiple ERPs.

  • In conjunction with the IT, provide progress reports to Board management and oversee periodic updates to the Department Data Governance Roadmap

  • Coordinate external data sources to eliminate redundancy and streamline the expense related to those services.

  • Identify new business opportunities pertaining to the use of information assets to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in the marketplace / represent data as a strategic business asset at the Senior Management table

Position Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, data science, information science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a major services organization, with large-scale data or project management and oversight experience.

  • Experience in CPG industry preferred.

  • 5+ years in a progressive leadership role with experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs with change or transformation leadership experience.

  • 5+ years leading teams responsible for ERP data management.

  • Experience in integrating complex, cross-corporate processes and information strategies, and/or designing strategic metrics and scorecards.

  • Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices
