A FM Elimination Equipment Sr. Engineer will own, manage and/or direct small teams for FM Elimination Equipment development from the conceptual phase through the commercialization process. This position will work to further develop technical skills and provide impactful business results. Actual work will be focused on developing new, improved FM Elimination Equipment technologies to support the elimination of FM from our products, reduce cost and/or improve quality. This position will become the SME (Subject Mater Expert) in FM elimination equipment and will support plants with existing FM elimination equipment.
Leads the development, or acquisition of innovative Foreign Material Elimination technologies (i.e. X-ray, Metal Detectors, NIR, Vision) to deliver competitive advantages.
Assist Engineering on projects in FM Elimination equipment selection, and troubleshooting.
Ability to lead medium to large projects.
Meet or exceed project objectives under the direction of a supervisor.
Process development methodologies teacher, mentor, technical resource, and subject matter expert.
Ability to champion new ideas through the process development process.
Provide technical support in manufacturing facilities as required.
Maintain accurate and complete records and distill them to Intellectual Property.
Work with cross-functional teams to monitor consumer trends and wants/needs within the food industry.
Be flexible in learning and applying new ways of executing work.
Assist in providing technical leadership on projects as required.
Bachelor's degree in engineering. Related fields include: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering
Minimum 5 years related experience required.
Understanding of Design of Experiment methodologies.
Proficient in Microsoft office programs including Word, Excel and Power Point.
Proficient with 2D and 3D CAD programs such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Strong communication skills (both verbal and nonverbal) and the ability to present to leadership.
Exprirenced with project management fundamentals.
