Job Description Summary

The Project Engineer provides project ownership, leadership and direction toward the successful development and implementation of the 5-year running capital plan and capital project execution at the Richland Campus. This position leads project teams to deliver capital investment projects that align with business strategies, follow structured guidelines, company policies, and deliver the highest value asset allocation possible. The Engineer is responsible for all phases of the capital plan and ensures the successful completion of each phase within the defined scope, timeline, and budget.

Job Description

  • This position is responsible for all aspects of project work including design, CER write-ups, developing contractor bid packages, overseeing project installation, cost tracking, training, startup assistance and post project support

  • Performs analyses to develop design options and cost impacts

  • Works with the Vertical Start-up Team to ensure successful project implementation

  • Works with maintenance team on plant related issues

  • Assists in maintaining contractor safety program

  • Supports the Process Safety Management program

  • Develops and maintains the long-term 5-year capital plan

  • Originates formal project requests, investigates problems, and develops solutions in line with safety, economic, personnel, and environmental considerations

  • Works closely with the plant engineering manager, the corporate engineering group, plant staff, production, procurement, environmental, finance and quality teams.

  • Works with Accounts Payable for Purchase Order related information

  • Assists in preparation of annual maintenance budget

  • Responsible for the procurement of materials for capital projects

  • Responsible for administrative reports, system security, interdepartmental coordination, documentation, and confirmation

  • Assists in acquiring, cataloging, and distributing SDS files to the proper individuals and locations in the plant

  • Willingness to assist and cooperate with all departments and personnel when called upon

  • Willingness and work habit to make sure jobs are thoroughly completed in scope on time and on budget

  • Shall have initiative to be a self-starter and does not require constant supervision to practice good work habits and execute against project goals

  • Ability to develop and track projects utilizing various project management tools

  • Ability to recognize project status and communicate issues / concerns as soon as they are identified to mitigate project timeline and financial impacts

Job Qualifications

  • BS in an Engineering or equivalent relevant experience

  • 2 plus years of Project Management experience with direct participation in all aspects of projects from conceptual development to project closeout and post project support

  • Technical knowledge and understanding of manufacturing systems and equipment

  • Project Management from a manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Gantt Charts, SAP
