The Payroll Specialist is responsible for assisting with the processing of several bi-weekly pay groups and is responsible for proper payment to employees. This individual communicates with other members of the organization regarding compensation, time and absence related data to ensure employees are properly paid. The Payroll Analyst takes lead on payroll tax compliance matters, benefits reconciliation issues, supports Workday configuration and troubleshooting and the annual year-end close processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares & settles payroll in Workday Payroll for employees paid on bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls.
Serves as main point of contact for payroll & troubleshoots payroll related issues impacting employees (non-payments, pay discrepancies, general questions, etc.)
Audit individual employee pay records and reconcile totals by department, location, country, etc.
Reconcile employee deductions and employer costs to third party payments
Establishes accounts for new payroll tax jurisdictions and maintains existing tax accounts.
Follows up on withholding orders, tax notices and other correspondence received from government authorities.
Verifies compliance with various statutory payroll requirements
Provides ad hoc reporting and other documentation to Finance, HR and other authorized parties.
Assist with external audits as assigned
Additional responsibilities assigned by management.
Time Management, time keeping KABA time clocks
Data Maintenance, includes general employee information, benefits, time and attendance.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:
3 + years' experience with all aspects of Workday payroll functionality and pay cycle
5 + years of payroll experience, including hands on payroll processing and benefits administration for non-exempt & exempt employees, and Multi-state setup and compliance.
Excellent Communication Skills
Proficient with excel and other Microsoft products
