Job Description:

               

ERM is hiring a Health & Safety Specialist in North Reading, MA. This is a full-time consulting limited-term position for six months focusing on implementing H&S programs at a Client location for ERM.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Implement H&S programs in areas including: development of Equipment-specific Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures; completion and documentation of Job Safety Analysis for facility tasks (including assessment of ergonomic concerns and evaluation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) needs); reviewing machine guarding assessments; implementation of confined space entry procedures; completion of required monthly inspection; and other technical support as needed.

  • Participate in and gather information associated with the incident investigation process for incidents that occur at the site.

  • Assist with collection, review, and analysis of field data to evaluate conditions, present information, and implement effective solutions.

  • Identify and implement corrective actions.

  • Support our clients desire to improve H&S performance by providing field coaching.

  • Participate as an enthusiastic team member on various project teams and effectively complete assignments.

  • Spend time onsite at the client location to help solve their H&S challenges. 

  • Begin to build a network within and outside of ERM that will enable you to leverage and develop your skills and help solve challenging multi-disciplinary client challenges.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


  • BS in Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering, or related science degree preferred.

  • Minimum of five years relevant experience with exposure to the manufacturing or research and development industries preferred.

  • Experience with JSA development, machine guarding, LOTO, confined space entry, work at height, PPE, haz-com, chemical hygiene, and other OSHA requirements.

  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting, with guidance and direction.

  • Strong work ethic with a passion to learn, grow, and thrive.
