Department: School of Biomedical Informatics

Location: TMC- Houston, TX

Position Type: Full Time/ Exempt

Position Summary:

Assists the team's Projects and Research Manager in coordination and completion of all team projects to include: software development, informatics presentations, and infrastructure maintenance. Provides assistance in organizing science journal submission.

Position Key Accountabilities:


  • Supports Projects and Research Manager in organizing projects/timelines and communication with staff and customers
  • Assists in the coordination and planning of software development life cycle and deployment
  • Interacts with stakeholders from other departments within SBMI to ensure requirements are accurately documented and followed through to completion
  • Prepares reports to Projects and Research Manager regarding the status of projects
  • Assists in budget and time management tracking to ensure working within budget and time constraints
  • May prepare/ make oral and/or visual presentations for use internally, and may contribute to public presentations
  • Develop and maintain project documentation
  • Performs a variety of tasks while upholding internal controls
  • May assist the Projects and Research Manager in leading and setting milestones for others
  • Other duties as assigned

Certification/Skills:


  • Should be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures; experience with MS Office and MS Project preferred
  • Project Management tools/software experience preferred
  • Understanding of sofware development cycles preferred

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of the degree

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
