Our factory in Crete, NE is one of the largest wet pet food manufacturing facilities in the U.S. as a mass producer of over one thousand tons of pet food per day, including brands like Alpo®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, Pro Plan®, Friskies® and Nestlé Purina Veterinary Diets® brands. As a Production Team Leader, you will coordinate duties of approximately 25 production operators. These duties include improving safety, reducing costs, improving quality, maximizing the department's effectiveness through long term planning and project implementation, providing appropriate training and development, ensuring consistent roll out of plant policies & procedures, and maintaining open communications and positive employee relations. In this role, you will also drive continuous improvement within your team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Direct team members to achieve production schedule in a productive and least cost manner.
• Provide safety training and equipment to ensure the safety of all team members.
• Monitor further processing systems and work with Materials Accounting to reduce ingredient variance.
• Work with maintenance team leaders and managers to maximize maintenance effectively during downtime.
• Must be able to identify team member strengths and weaknesses in order to utilize their abilities to their fullest extent.
• Monitor and control team member attendance and work habits through the discipline process.
• Responsible for timekeeping and updating Kronos daily.

This position will be scheduled for 2nd or 3rd shift, candidates must be willing to work either shift.
Candidates must be willing to work weekends and overtime.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):
Education:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.

• 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing, military, or related environment
• 1+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing, military, or related environment (preferred, not required)
