Arconic is currently in search of a Material Master Technician to join our Global Rolled Products (GRP) business unit in Alcoa, TN. Arconic's Tennessee Operations, is one of the most modern aluminum fabricating facilities in the world. Our plants produce high-quality molten metal and aluminum sheet and are recognized as a world leader in the business. The facility has been located at the Foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains for 100 years and continues to thrive and grow.
The Material Master Technician is responsible for creating current, accurate flow path plans for material manufactured at TN operations. The Technician works within the Metallurgy and Quality Systems team and will work in partnership with the internal Commercial resources, Supply Chain Management, and in accordance with guidance provided by Product Metallurgy to execute on customer specification requests. This role requires the ability to measure and monitor workload, recognize errors or help chain needs, and a high level of computer skills to work across plant systems.
Responsibilities:
Create Material Flow-path and production plan (Material Master) for individual specifications requested by customers.
Work closely with Product Metallurgists, Area Metallurgists, and Supply Chain Management Team to enable timely order entry against the Customer request.
Use computer systems to complete improvements to the overall Product Planning process (Material Master functions in SAP).
Maintain and Update documented work instructions.
Cross train from assigned flow-path to cover associates flow-path assignments.
Monitor for new products requiring material master development within the markets that the facility supports.
Develop existing training documents and visual flow path to encompass Material Master functions.
Build necessary material masters to allow accurate product realization under the guidance of the Lead Product Metallurgists.
Coordinate with Supply Chain Management team to facilitate inventory management
Participate in maintenance of recovery tracking system, maintain recovery standards and performance by product.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical/operational support role within a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Metallurgy, IT, or related field from an accredited institution at time of hire
1 years experience working in Quality
Proficiency with Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
Experience with SAP manufacturing systems
Experience with ETQ software
Experience with quality systems (ex. TS 16949, IATF, ISO 9001)
Lean manufacturing knowledge and experience
Strong commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
Possess effective quality problem solving skills to the root cause and the ability to drive continuous improvement
Ability to work independently and with cross functional teams
