Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

 

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible to ensure that the Quality infrastructure at distribution center is in full compliance with written procedures, specifications, inspection plans, and company policies and procedures are carried out accurately, consistently, efficiently, and in a timely manner. Ensures that quality problems are investigated, solved, and communicated effectively and efficiently to external and internal customers. Be a role model to the QA inspectors by creating a positive environment and culture of open communication, development opportunity, respectfulness, fairness, be supportive with hands on assistance when needed and high integrity. This position will be working supervisor along with the QA inspectors and has the quality assurance responsibility and accountability at the distribution center.

 

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 

 


  • Supervise the incoming finished product inspections/releases in accordance with current approved specifications and written policies, procedures, and quality standards of products and reworked/relabeled products. Assist in the incoming inspection of products received at Hagerstown, MD Distribution Center (HADC) and use the Acceptance Quality Limit (AQL) to implement QA procedures if assistance is needed.

  • Assist in solving quality problems in Herbalife Distribution centers in the NAM and other regions.

  • Responsible for the effective implementation of SOPs and cGMPs. Provides ongoing training and feedback to QA Inspectors with a team collaboration. Continuously process improvements on quality systems. Collect data for tracking and trending purposes on quality defects.

  • Responsible in the timely and effective notification of suppliers and appropriate departments in Herbalife regarding problems found in the inspection of the products.

  • Conduct the on-the-job training to the QA Inspectors for new all hired and existing employees.

  • Attend meetings and actively participates in the discussion of issues found in all aspects of inspections.

  • Create a good working environment for QA Inspectors and appropriate departments interacting with the Quality group. Leads by example by creating a positive culture of open communication, fairness, and highest integrity.

  • Work effectively across functional stakeholders and departments to ensure business goals and quality standards are met.

  • Assist with writing, updating, reviewing, and approving QA and other departments distribution center SOPs.

  • Perform Routing Manager functions for NCRs and CJFs workflows in Agile, moving the processes from submit to close for HADC and other assigned regions. Assist with NCR investigations and follow ups with contract manufacturers.

  • Assist with FDA audits, federal and state government agencies, and third-party audits. Maintains accurate and complete documentation and data to meet regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate and schedule on-site swapping of HADC’s Temperature and Humidity data loggers. Assist in programing humidity and temperature data loggers for transportation if needed.

  • Assist in special projects and/or assignments.

  • Perform other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Skills:

 

Required


  • Ability to communicate verbally and written.

  • Ability to travel locally and internationally to contract manufacturers.

  • Ability to function as an effective team member.

 

Preferred


  • Ability to solve quality problems and provide corrective actions.

  • Computer literate (Microsoft office)

  • Ability to work independently, performing onsite inspections at manufacturers.

 

Experience:

 

Required


  • Minimum 5 to 6 years’ experience in the inspection of incoming materials and production line.

  • Lead QA inspector or supervisor for at least 1 year.

 

Preferred


  • Minimum 7 to 9 years’ experience in quality control/assurance of dietary supplements/food or related industry.

  • Supervisory position for at least 3 years in dietary supplements/food or related industry.

  • Knowledge of Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) finished product inspection.

 

Education:

 

Required


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

 

Preferred


  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor or Certified Quality Engineer.

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or related field.
