Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for a Material Technician III in our Shipping Department to perform more complex materials tasks involving the coordination of material flows throughout the finished goods warehouse. The role is able to prioritize task and respond in a very fast environment; has thorough knowledge of business enterprise systems in the area of specialization; identifies problems, determines root causes, and takes required corrective action to achieve a high level of inventory accuracy; and operates a variety of powered material handling equipment and performs manual tasks. The role may provide direction to lower-level Technicians and is able to work independently without supervision. This position will be based in our Waco, TX plant.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Performs all responsibilities of Material Tech I and Material Tech II
  • Route customer shipments via web, email, phone for carrier information using Arconic system as well as customer systems
  • Prepare and process International paperwork including customs paperwork to ensure import and export compliance based upon country requirements
  • Handle RPL order transactions and movement within finished goods warehouse
  • Works very close with management to solve finished goods issues
  • Train other operators as needed
  • Manage safety stock - complete replenishment order in BaaN, transfer locations as needed.
  • Maintain productivity measures.
  • Communicates effectively and positively with all levels of personnel and customers
  • Perform automotive specialty shipments which could include:
  • 1. Quality Dock Audits
  • 2. ASN Verification
  • 3. Investigate and solve any automotive issues
  • Performs all work activities in accordance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintains full compliance and conducts all activities in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Skills:


  • Must be able to read and write and perform standard math calculations.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift and to perform manual activities with moderate physical demands.
  • Must be able to interact positively with other individuals to function effectively in a team-based environment.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment utilizing a computerized materials management system.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
