Responsibilities
New York Tech's (NYIT) deSeversky Mansion is seeking a part-time Bridal Party Attendant to workforthecatering facilityat the Long Island (Old Westbury) campus.This personwillbe responsible for providing professional Bridal services to the Bridal party and guests to ensure a successful wedding experience.
Responsibilities include:
Serve Bride and Groom throughout dining service to ensure they experience first class customer service
Coordinate with Sales Department for the event drop-off and set up of personal items which may include place cards, gift box, pictures, guest book, cake topper, amenity baskets, cake knife and server, champagne flutes, party favours, etc.
Orchestrate ceremony and reception detailsand assist Banquet Manager with ceremony rehearsal
Be present during photographs of wedding party and follow with drinks and food as needed.
Be attentive to other VIP guests at the wedding and reception, including immediate family and bridal party members.
Ensure bridesmaids have bouquets and assist groomsmen with boutonnieres when necessary.
Replenish and serve bride and bridal party food and drinks as needed and requested.
Maintain emergency "bridal kit" to ensure all items needed are fully stocked at all times.
Help the Bride/Maitre D during the reception (gathering VIP guests and bridal party for the cake cutting, dancing, bouquet toss and other formalities).
Review special seating arrangements prior to the ceremony.
Refresh and clean bridal suite for couples return after ceremony.
Help wrap up all final details and carefully/neatly pack up any leftover items from the host, including drop-off items.
Communicate in end of shift report all closing details.
Print and cut menus and station signs for each wedding with approval from sales team, as needed
Ensure a clean and safe environment.
Know and embrace the mission statement and the de Seversky service basics
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:(High School or Equivalent), or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
Minimum 2 years relevant experience.
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with peers, subordinates, supervisors, parents, and outside agencies.
Positive and professional demeanor and works well within a team setting.
Varying schedule that may include weekends, holidays and 9 hour shifts as business dictates.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Stand and walk for long periods of times.
Able to lift a manage trays of food and glasses with weights at times exceeding 25lbs.
Must be willing to work in both indoor and outdoor settings where varying weather and temperature conditions can be expected.
