Job Description



Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Information Technology department's High Performance Computing and Linux (HPCL) unit. This unit is primarily responsible for installation, administration, certification and maintenance of the high performance computing clusters, visualization servers, and enterprise Linux servers. The successful candidate will work on a diverse team located at both the Bettis and Knolls Laboratories.Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Interpreting, recommending, documenting and implementingsecurity controls for Linux and UNIX infrastructure systems.

  • Monitoringhealth of systems related to security controls and compliance.

  • Implementingmitigations and documentingrequests and justifications for any necessary security baseddeviations.

  • Recommendingimplementation strategy, identifyingtechnical impactand communicatingrationale to various stake holders.

  • Designing, installing,configuring, and maintainingLinux/UNIX basedoperating systems, utilities, and hardware.

  • Analyzing, developing,testingand maintainingoperating systems software, COTS software and specialized applications.

  • Developing, implementing, enforcingand maintainingsecurity policies and procedures.

  • Conductingresearch and evaluatingnew IT technologies for potential application in the NR Program.







Required Skills



Advanced:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years relevant experience; or

  • Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of twoyears relevant experience

Senior:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six years relevant experience; or

  • Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of fouryears relevant experience







Preferred Skills




  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong teaming and interpersonal skills.

  • Prior experience with the application of Risk Management Framework andDevSecOps methodologies.

  • Prior experience with large IT infrastructures and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

  • Knowledge of RHEL DISA STIG, FISMA andNIST 800-53 standards and requirements.

  • Experience with Tenable Nessusand RSA Archer.

  • Experience with JFrog Artifactory.
