AFC Cable Systems, a part of Atkore International, currently has openings for Recoiler Operators at our Byesville, OH facility. Most openings will be on the overnight shift (7:00pm - 7:00am), working Monday night and ending Friday morning. Every 4 weeks this shift will rotate to days and will work (7:00am - 7:00pm) Monday through Thursday (Saturdays may be required);training may take place on any shift.


This position will report directly to the Production Supervisor, this person will be responsible for ensuring proper and consistent operation of exit end of slitting line and our Paint Lines in support of overall AFC/Atkore Strategic Plans and deliver customers with the quality product that meets and/or exceeds AFC Standards. This role requires lifting up to 50 lbs. as well as pushing/pulling of coiling materials, completion of necessary paperwork and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The ideal candidate will have three (3) years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in slitting/recoiling with metal products is a plus.


Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Reviews Special Production Instructions and any production problems

  • Monitors the quality of coils being produced and painted on a continuous basis

  • Checks production schedule and monitors coil dumps and width of coil strips

  • Operates forklift, mule, and hoist

  • Utilizes tool for banding of coils

  • Prepares pallets of coils for shipment

  • Completes quality checks

  • Operates stretch wrap machine

  • Weighs and records scrap

  • Follows all best practices established for this position

  • Achieves 5-S rating goals as defined in audit sheet for assigned area

  • Follow all safety rules and procedures


Qualifications include:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience strongly preferred but not required

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with loud noises

  • Basic math skills

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to push, pull, bend, sit and stand without assistance

  • Dependability, good attendance and strong work ethic

  • Ability to follow directions and complete work in a safe and efficient manner while producing a quality product

  • Must have the ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions

  • Ability to work any shift
