The Industrial Designer will design and develop a full range of battery and gas outdoor power equipment including: mowers, tractors, residential and professional zero-turns, autonomous mowers, and utility vehicles. The ideal candidate will apply his or her creativity and product design skills to the challenge of inventing what is next.
Creation of multiple concepts for new product introductions.
Create all necessary Visual Communication materials including but not limited to: Sketches, Digital Sketches, Renderings, CAD models, and presentation materials.
Deliver completed CAD surface models to Engineering and support development team through production.
Participate in or Conduct Ergonomic evaluations and apply knowledge of human behaviors, abilities, and limitations to all Design projects.
Participate in Comparative Product evaluations and teardowns.
Participate in Consumer Insights Research events.
Work independently and as part of the Design Team.
Work with cross-functional development teams including: Product Marketing, Consumer Insights Research, Engineering, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Prototyping, Manufacturing, Tooling, Project Management, Etc.
Maintain effective channels of communication with all project team members.
Creative thinking with the ability to design solutions for today with an eye toward tomorrow
CAD Modeling Skills: Autodesk Alias / KeyShot preferred.
Knowledge of Human Factors for Product Design.
Passionate about latest technology advancements and consumer trends
Flexible and comfortable with quick short-term projects as well as longer-term development initiatives
Comfortable with fast-paced environment with flexibility to handle occasional rapid priority shifts.
Prior experience in product development is desirable
Willing to challenge the status quo
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design
Min 1-3 years of experience in Product Design. Other levels of experience will be considered.
Experience in CAID software. (Autodesk Alias preferred)
Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.)
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability and desire to work in an office setting as well as a prototype shop. Willing to work on outdoor power equipment in outdoor environment when needed. Able to lift (up to 40lb), reach, bend otherwise work on and around outdoor power equipment such as lawn tractors, professional and residential zero-turns, snow throwers, utility vehicles, and handheld power tools.
The position requires occasional travel, approximately 5%
