Manufacturing Associate - Downstream
Gaithersburg, MD

In the Lentigen Manufacturing group, we are focused on expanding our manufacturing capacity to meet increasing client demand for lentiviral vectors used to treat a number of different cancers and genetic diseases. Your Tasks:


As a member of the Lentigen Technology Manufacturing team, you will participate in all aspects of downstream manufacturing operations for the purification of lentiviral vectors. We are looking for ambitious persons with a background in biologics manufacturing.


The qualified candidate will be responsible for a wide range of downstream process operations while adhering to GMP's and executing Batch Production records using good documentation practices. Your exceptional ability to perform aseptic processes in a GMP clean room environment will contribute to the manufacture of lentiviral vectors used in human clinical trials, and propel Lentigen Technology's continued growth and success.


Requirements:



  • B.S. in a life sciences degree from a four-year college or university and/or anequivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a GMP setting in downstream biologics manufacturing

  • Hands-on experience with standard downstream operations such as tangential-flow filtration and column chromatography. Proficiency with AKTA chromatography systems a benefit

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job is performed in a temperature-controlled facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Generally, this job is performed in a sanitized laboratory setting and routinely uses standard medical and research equipment such as centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, microscopes, incubators, pipettes, and computers. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to blood, viruses, bacteria, body fluids and other tissues. Employees entering and leaving the laboratory must wear appropriate clothing and protective equipment such as scrubs, coveralls, masks, glasses, and gloves. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Qualifications


EducationBachelors of Life Sciences (preferred)
Experience3 years: Experience in downstream methods, such as tangential-flow filtration and column chromatography using multiple technologies, various filtration techniques and final fill/vialing; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (preferred)
