Job Description:

Summary: Designs, modifies, develops, and implements software programming applications for HVAC equipment. This may include new product development, utility or diagnostic software. Expected to participate in the testing process through test plan development, test review and analysis, and software certification. Interfaces with internal client groups to understand all planned projects and meet project schedule deadlines. To perform this job successfully, an individual should extensive problem solving and computer skills. Knowledge of object-oriented software development required. Experience with C++, HTML and the Linux OS preferred. Experience with PLC's and HVAC a plus.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with Software experience)


• 1-3 years of Embedded Software experience


• Requires knowledge of principles and practices of engineering industry.


• PC skills including Microsoft office applications and experience with C or C++, HTML and the Linux OS preferred.


• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.

• Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of varying scope and complexity.


• Gives advice, analyzes information or serves as a professional resource on whom others may rely within a specific function.


• Participates as an engineering representative in cross-functional New Product Introduction process.


• Evaluates, analyzes, and makes recommendations on products, designs, and cost improvements to improve the competitive position of the company.


• Selects materials needed to construct prototypes and supervises the design engineering of new models.


• Plans and develops test programs for prototypes.


• Analyzes test data and reports to determine if designs meet functional, performance, and safety specifications.


• Analyzes, evaluates, and recommends cost improvement ideas through product, vendor, and design changes.


• Performs technical analysis of competitive products.


• Provides support to sales and marketing on product presentations and customer support.


• Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.
