Summit Truck Bodies, a division of Transwest, is in need of a Chassis Prep Technician at our manufacturing facility in Wathena Kansas. The Chassis Prep Technician will be responsible for installing chassis components and body mounts as directed on work orders and blueprints. We offer competitive wages and a full benefits package including medical, dental, life, disability insurance, 401(K), paid holidays, paid vacation/personal time, and an employee car discount program.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepares work to be accomplished by studying work order, bill of materials and blueprints; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.Installs PTO, pumps and chassis electrical components.Installs body mounts according to blueprints.Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.Maintains a clean and safe work area, maintains and wears all required personal protective safety equipment.Participates in all continuous improvement programs by offering suggestions and exhibiting initiative in areas within direct control.Other duties as assigned.WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:Requires working occasionally in areas which are not ventilated or air-conditioned. Requires eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate machinery such as a truck or a forklift.Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.Requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping and stretching. Requires occasional lifting up to 75 pounds. Requires exposure to machines, chemicals and solvents. Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery. Normal range of hearing and vision.Ability to do simple math calculations.Must understand vague and implicit instructions, and react favorably in all work situations. Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people.
