We have an opportunity for an Embedded Systems Engineer to join our Bishop Woods, WI team. You will have the opportunity to be responsible for a wide range of product development activities including; prototyping, testing and root cause investigation.They willwork with a cross-functional team in order to drive a product to production, and maintain after release. They will also be responsible for interacting with multiple groups to drive further improvements in quality and features as the product matures. We are seeking an organized and agile person that cannot only quickly address issues, but can plan multiple work streams efficiently and effectively.

You will:


  • Maintain existing software to support the further operation of implemented systems.

  • Discuss and investigate issues raised by technical service and/or product management.

  • Apply best practices for development, debug, and final test of project ranging from specific concepts to comprehensive, functional products.

  • Conduct lab and field testing, pilot builds, and support production runs.

  • Owns all aspects of software maintenance of varied electro-mechanical product platforms.

  • Leads and facilitates cross-functional meetings and design reviews with peers and other talented engineering groups.

  • Collaborates with other Pentair Global Design & Manufacturing Centers as well as strategic suppliers.

  • Creates and maintains accurate drawing packages and product specifications with accuracy.

  • Continue to improve reliability of existing software controlled device.

  • Utilizes intellect and best engineering practices using Pentair's product development process (stage-gate).

Key Qualifications:


  • Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) and/or Master of Science Degree (M.S.) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution.

  • 7+ years of design experience in a high volume production, product development environment.

  • 5-10 years specifically in embedded system programing.

  • Demonstrated ability to move design changes from concept to shop floor.

  • Experience with all phases of embedded hardware and software development (design, architecture, test, release and support).

  • Knowledgeable in prototyping and testing PCB assemblies for embedded systems (Altium Designer preferred).

  • Experience with wireless RF technologies.

  • Experience with Git for version control.

  • Experience with Agile Design process.

  • Proficient in C/C++ for embedded systems.

  • Experience in IoT connected devices.

  • Experience with sensor integration, data acquisition and analysis..

  • Familiarity with communication protocols including Serial Peripheral Interface(SPI), I2C, Ethernet, USB, CAN, etc.

  • Regulatory agency experience (UL, CE, NSF, FCC) preferred.

  • Experience with LabView testing is a plus.

  • Experienced in the following chip sets/vendor: TI MSP340, Atmel, Renasas, ESP 32, and Microchip is preferred.

Travel:

Willingness and flexibility for domestic and international travel, less than 10% of time
