This role will be in East Chicago, IN at our Indiana Harbor facility, but we are also open to this role being located in West Chester, OH
Responsibilities
Manage railcar ordering, car movement, and rail load building for the Cleveland Cliffs HBI (Hot-Briquetted Iron) Plant in Toledo, Ohio
Monitor, track, and coordinate all details with the railroads to support HBI shipments to internal and external customers
Manage the HBI car fleet to assure cars are located to properly support plant production and sales and marketing objectives
Manage the efforts of the rail service providers located in the Port of Toledo that support the HBI facility
Provide periodic reporting on shipments and car supply
Work directly with the plants to reduce excessive dwell times at the unloading locations
Work with Class 1 and Short Line Railroads to reduce dwell time of in-transit loaded and empty cars
Update and manage Transportation orders in the system
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business
1-2 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain or 2+ years or relevant logistics experience
Relevant experience working with the Class 1 and Short Line Railroads
Team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working within a diverse, cross-functional, internal and external team across different time zones
Excellent planning, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with a strong customer service orientation
Understanding of logistics and transportation management

Computer skills - Microsoft Office Products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Self-motivation, problem solving, and organizational skills
Demonstrated work ethic - excellence, meeting deadlines, overtime
