Our core competencies and capabilities focus on immunoassay and molecular testing in the areas of: infectious disease, women's health, and virology.

Quidel is searching for aBuyer tojoinourAthens, Ohio based team.The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing of indirect materials and services to support organizational needs.

Additional responsibilities include -


  • Sources indirect materials and services to support internal customer needs.

  • Prepares purchase orders and places orders in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Monitors purchase order delivery and escalates when necessary.

  • Follows QSOPs related to the Company's Quality Management System.

  • Ensures proper approvals on purchase orders have been obtained.

  • Maintains purchase order accuracy and record keeping.

  • Participates in process improvement activities.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.








Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 3-5 years' experience in a purchasing environment or related field preferred.

  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Certifications: APICS CPIM, CFPIM, or CIRM; or NAPM CPM preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

  • Experience with MRP system preferred.

  • E-mail, word processing and spreadsheet knowledge required.

  • Problem-solving skills required.
