HOURLY PAY RANGE: $20.10 - $29.32
Hours: PRN evenings and week-ends and some on-call.
The Chaplain is part of the Spiritual Care team that ministers to the spiritual needs of patients, their families, and Mercy Associates, respectful of confidentiality.
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field (e.g., theology, spiritual care) or formal evidence of equivalent; sound foundation in theology required.
Must have Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) units as required by employment status through the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC). Or CPE equivalency (as approved by Archbishop)
PRN (Contingent) Employee status - Minimum, 1 CPE Unit completed, or
if lacking CPE, must be under the mentorship of Spiritual Care Manager and in actual process of obtaining a CPE unit within two years of date of hire.
Part-Time - 2 CPE units completed.
a) Full-time from Outside the System: Board Certified Chaplain with one year of clinical experience beyond certification.
b) Full-Time from Inside the System: Board Certified Chaplain or in certification process.
Special Skills, Competencies, and Aptitudes
Ecclesiastical Endorsement required as a spiritual care minister by the appropriate official church agency to which s/he belongs and is accountable; proof verified every three years.
Appreciates the diversity of religion and spirituality of patients and possesses ability to work with and respect the patient's value system to provide appropriate care.
