Job Summary

Do you have a passion to push technology forward, help customers be successful, explore the latest technologies, and communicate in a compelling manner?NetApp is looking for you to join our Cloud Heroes team.The team consists of experts in public cloud technologies who work closely with customers and partners to make their cloud journeys successful using NetApp cloud services.In addition, we develop reference designs for new solutions, train sales teams, work with technology partners, speak at events to evangelize our technologies, and provide input to product teams to improve services.

This is a hands on position.You must have or be able to quickly develop a solid understanding of AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and NetApp technologies.You will need to test combinations of the services to develop solutions.You must also be able to clearly communicate in verbal and written form.Further, the ideal candidate will be able to discover gaps in our current offerings and help determine methods to close those gaps.

This is a senior position and requires someone who can work independently, interact with senior executives at customers and within NetApp, be inquisitive, and collaborate.

Essential Functions

  • Hands on work with public cloud services to develop new solutions and document reference designs.

  • Work with customer cloud architects and operations teams to help them be successful in their cloud journey with NetApp's cloud services.

  • Hands on testing of services to develop new solutions, documentation of those solutions.

  • Communicate value of NetApp cloud services and solutions in written and verbal form.

  • Present to customers, partners and at industry events.

  • Train technical pre and post sales teams.

  • You will be a Subject Matter Expert in a solution area across NetApp, and will create go to market deliverables (videos, demos, reference architectures, slides etc.).

Job Requirements

  • Broad experience with public clouds and NetApp, cloud services and solution area specific technologies and use cases.

  • Customer-centric approach: Interact frequently with customers to understand requirements and act as a customer advocate to product planning.

  • Understanding of cloud customer trends, use cases, technologies, and buyers.

  • Proven ability to lead a high-impact technical engagement with a customer/partner.

  • Proven ability to build a predictable plan, effectively estimate work completion and identify key performance indicators.

  • Demonstrable ability to collect, synthesize and analyze data in order to make data driven decisions.

  • Demonstrated ability to get things done.

  • Ability to lead across business unit teams and have strong influencing skills at the Senior and Executive level.

  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and complex tasks in a dynamic work environment.

  • Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization internally and with partners externally, in broad technology areas.


  • The tasks you will be responsible for are often unstructured and the issues addressed are less defined requiring new perspectives and creative approaches.

  • You will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope and scale requiring in-depth evaluation.

  • Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions.


  • You must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, across functions and with external parties.

  • Limited supervision and direction is provided, as this individual can operate and drive strategic results without boundaries and set priorities independently.

  • The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor, influencer, and subject matter expert.

  • To be successful, you must demonstrate favorable results through regular leadership and influencing others.

  • Often acts as a mentor to both senior and junior engineers.


Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience.
