The Analytics department within Guy Carpenter assesses, quantifies, and partners with Broking and Strategic Advisory to help clients manage their insurance-related risks.
The Actuarial team is seeking candidates for the following position that can be based in Philadelphia, PA; Edina, MN; New York, NY; Morristown, NJ; Seattle, WA; or San Francisco CA offices:
What you can expect:
You will be an individual contributor, who with minimal supervision, builds complex analyses to evaluate assumptions, premiums and risk, analyzes industry factors that affect loss liabilities, and consults with clients on reinsurance actuarial services that assess and mitigate risk. This actuary is a strategic partner with brokers and clients helping to find solutions to client problems. You need to be able to work hand in hand with the actuarial and broking teams to ensure client needs are met, resources are used appropriately and GC Analytics is supporting and strengthening the relationship with the client.

Comprehensive actuarial student program
We will count on you to:
Act as an advisor, delivering a coherent and compelling narrative after drawing insights and conclusions from actuarial analyses.
Consult with brokers on client needs and advise on reinsurance program alternatives based on risk tolerances and industry trends
Build reinsurance structure analyses (leveraging proprietary software) that assess and reflect a wide range of risks and exposures, articulate assumptions, describe outcomes, and compare and contrast alternatives
Evaluate and communicate reinsurance-related risk by interrogating data, performing experience and exposure rating, and understanding the drivers of the result
Continuously seek more efficient ways to complete client projects; Take part in or lead internal initiatives, offering ideas and feedback to improve outcomes as well as to help develop Guy Carpenter's thought leadership and industry expertise.
Act as a mentor/advisor to junior colleagues and seek advice/mentorship from senior colleagues in order to constantly keep learning.

What you need to have:
The ability to learn, adapt, and problem-solve.
Excellent communication skills, a teamwork orientation, and an advisory mindset
An orientation to lead the actuarial analysis as a part of a client account team.

ACAS with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience
