Robert Half International, Inc. seeks Security Engineer II in San Ramon, CA:

Job Duties: Design and implement operationally ready, best practices security solutions (tools and services) to mitigate security threats and risks that may impact the business. Evaluate new and emerging security products and technologies. Research and execute technology refresh according to product roadmap and industrial best practices. Participate as technical security expert when coordination of incident response activities is required during each security incident response event. Conduct technical assessments and research of computer-related security incidents, including malware analysis, fraud detection packet level analysis, and system-level forensic analysis to ensure the continuing development of security protection technology as it relates to defending and protecting RH and its customers. Assess severity levels of security threats (e.g., incidents, vulnerabilities, malicious code) and coordinate the appropriate notifications or escalations promptly to the Director, Information Security. Assess, document, and implement mitigation strategies for vulnerabilities discovered that may impact the company. Administer and monitor security profiles, review security violation reports, and investigate possible security exceptions, update, and maintain and document security controls. Prepare status reports on security matters to develop security risk analysis scenarios and response procedures.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, Business Administration, or related discipline plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience in the field of business/security analysis or risk management or Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, Business Administration, or related discipline plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of business/security analysis or risk management.

Special Skill Requirements: 

1.           Work across multiple security related technologies and solutions from infrastructure to application including SIEM, firewall, WIDS, WAF, DLP, RMS, Python, JavaScript, and PHP

2.           Network security including Web proxy and vulnerability scanning, utilize standard tools, and provide implementation guidance that ensures the companies security posture and compliance to firm’s security standards (i.e., OWASP Top 10, SANS25)

3.           Software development lifecycle methodologies, tools, and practices with the ability to provide implementation guidance that ensures the companies security posture.

4.           Business or system security process flow and work with business and technical resources.

5.           Agile and SCRUM methodologies

6.           Cloud based solutions and environments (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS)

7.           Perform source code review, analysis, and remediation (build in Java, Python, Apex, JavaScript) using CheckMarx
