The Control Manager ED will lead a team of staff and will be responsible for delivering a strong control environment to include regulatory oversight, understanding of the WLS data/platform landscape, appreciate for vast firmwide partnership and connectivity. The ED will also be responsible for understanding and driving alignment to the firm's growing Data standards and various programs aligned to the firm's Data agenda including oversight of the WLS Data steward role. This role will be part of the of the CB Controls and Continuity Services - Business Operations Executive (BOE) team reporting directly to WLS Business Ops Executive. The role will work closely with the WLS Operation Leads, Technology, Transformation, Finance, Credit Risk, and other Control colleagues across the firm.
Role Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the team, fill key roles and develop talent pool / knowledge and bench strength
Primary point of contact with Finance and Risk related to financial and regulatory reporting and data controls
Develop strong partnership with Operations, Transformation and Finance/Credit Risk partners, Data Privacy, Corporate partners and other CB Data Leads
Responsible for oversight of PWC engagements impacting WLS globally
Demonstrate or develop deep understanding of loan products and platforms, relative to the underlying data elements and related controls
Provide central point of expertise related to Quality Control, driving standardization, simplification and a roadmap to mature across operations partners
Work closely with team to investigate and resolve any data risk issues
Analyze a wide range of reports and presentations used across the organization for risk and data privacy
Identify data control improvements and leverage technology to automate and streamline existing processes
Follow, contribute to and create data risk management best practices and processes
Qualifications:
10+ years of financial services experience in controls, quality frameworks, data risk management, data governance and Agile development methodology
BA/BS degree
Advanced knowledge of control and risk management concepts or data architecture and advanced analytical solutions
Experience in leadership roles in data analytics and highly regulated environment
Experience managing people required
Highly analytical, enjoys simplifying highly complex topics and engaging partners on the journey
Proficient in PowerPoint/Pitch Pro with the ability to develop compelling and meaningful executive presentations that will drive opportunities / recommendations
Knowledge in data privacy industry standard practice
Excellent systems documentation skills. Background with creating data flow, data risk, data control documentation
Excellent analytical and technical skills - able to collaborate with technology and business controller units, gather information, propose streamlined, efficient and timely solutions and understand data risk implications and needs
Work autonomously to affect change - flexible, adaptable to shifting priorities; manages competing priorities to achieve the most effective result and able to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment
Ability to make subjective and informed decisions based upon output, influence stakeholders and justify decision making
Ability to deal with multiple tasks in a fast paced and evolving environment
