In this role, the Clinical Account Manager will provide clinical insights and advanced analytical support for a large national health system client in the National Accounts buyer group. The Clinical Account Manager will be the Pharmacy Clinical Program subject matter expert, and partner with the National Existing Business Account Team to meet the complex, highly customized needs of this multidimensional client.
Develop a clear understanding of client's goals and objectives form a clinical perspective.
Support client's PBM strategy while balancing Cigna's objectives.
Work jointly with the Cigna National Accounts organization to support the clinical, operational, and analytical needs of the client.
Work with key stakeholders at the client and within Cigna to ensure client goals and objectives for pharmacy savings are identified and achieved.
Deliver quality clinical support to client including formulary recommendations, utilization management, pipeline updates, P&T support, as well as client reporting production & distribution.
Review and analyze client's financial performance using standard and, as required ad-hoc reporting and tools.
Provide decision support to identify cost saving programs and services using quantitative techniques
Analyze pharmacy and medical benefit utilization to determine potential solutions to manage costs and promote quality of care within the client's delivery model.
Interpret and translate pharmacy coverage rules based on Cigna policies and evidence-based medicine guidelines.
Support client's pharmacy directors, respond to inquiries from a clinical perspective.
Effectively partner with client clinical program management team and medical director to assure clinical coverage policies meet business needs and strategic goals.
Provide supplementary support to client's Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
Lead the strategy, development and presentation of the client's quarterly and annual pharmacy benefit plan performance reviews
Maintain comprehensive and current knowledge of Cigna Pharmacy Management's products, programs and processes.
Periodic engagement in special projects as needed to support client objectives.
10 years or more of Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) experience in a clinical account management role supporting health system (or similar) client expectations required
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
Licensed Pharmacist required
Experience with consultative Client management methodologies required
DNA of ownership, accountability and responsibility
Ability to manage and ensure completion of multiple complex projects and shift priorities quickly.
Processes oriented with a forward thinking ability to present solutions and identify efficiencies
Project management skills, high attention to detail, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
Operational understanding and competence with PBM clinical programs and product offerings
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent presentation skills in group settings
Proficient technical skills using Microsoft Programs
Strong collaboration and relationship building skills
Proven ability to influence and solution sell
Midwest location preferred.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time (depends on employee location), at times with little advance notice
