Role Summary

The Enterprise Data Strategy team within Global Data & Analytics (GD&A) has been built to enable Cigna's evolved strategy to be champions of affordable, simple, and predicable health care by providing high quality, timely, well understood, and scalable data assets & services. Our ultimate vision is to ensure Cigna's data will be owned, organized, governed, and well-documented so that it's useful, fit for purpose, and aligned with business strategy.

The Data Quality Service Senior Manager will be responsible for leading the Enterprise Data Quality service team. The Enterprise Data Quality service is a centralized data service that supports data domains and business units by documenting and implementing quality rules into a common tooling platform, provides monitoring of data through visualization, scorecards and alerts based on quality rules, delivers a systematic approach to issue resolution with root cause analysis and progress monitoring capabilities, and develops and applies data cleansing standards and guidelines. As the manager of this team, you will assign resources to domain and business programs, monitor performance of resources and provide feedback on the data capabilities to continuously improve processes and tooling. This is a business-facing role that requires a candidate with leadership skills and a strong data management background who understands data, how to execute end-to-end data quality, and continuously improve an operation. You will also be responsible for managing operations and continuously improving operations efficiency and effectiveness as well as championing automation for the overall quality process.

This position is with Evernorth, a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

Responsibilities


  • Establish a standardized Data Quality framework and a multi-year execution and maturity roadmap.

  • Lead the development and deployment of the enterprise quality management process, including the establishment of common data quality metrics and monitoring solutions, that results in measurable improvements in quality of enterprise data.

  • Drive automation of this process to eliminate manual tasks through standardized tooling and capabilities.

  • Develop standardized Issue Management process, working with all lines of business on understanding the business impacts and prioritizing the data quality remediation. Institute proper monitoring, measuring, and reporting around enterprise data quality.

  • Lead working groups with stakeholders across the firm for establishing data quality policies, procedures, best practices, and related knowledge content.

  • Work across the enterprise with system and data owners to establish proper controls at the source systems.

Qualifications


  • 7+ years of experience with data quality management in a large, diverse data management organization

  • 5+ years in a supervisory or management position, managing direct reports

  • Experience running a data service and extensive data quality experience required

  • Extensive experience in migrating manual data quality processes to an automated, sustainable framework

  • Experience working in Healthcare Industry is highly desired

  • Experience scoping complex data requirements/issues and driving through to completion

  • Strong communications skills; written, verbal and presentation

  • Strong relationship management skills required; ability to partner and influence is critical for success

  • Proven track record of driving change and teaching/motivating individuals to develop & implement new ways of thinking and doing business

  • Experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Data strongly preferred

  • Experience with project management methodologies; Agile preferred

  • Experience with Agile Central (Rally), Jira, or comparable agile management tools preferred

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
