Job Description:

Job Purpose Responsible for managing quality inspection staff and overseeing all facility quality inspection, test and auditing activities, Critical Road Safety program, calibration system, and FHWA Inspection program as well as supervising quality inspection and auditing staff, monitoring staffing levels and addressing training needs. Responsible for executing quality systems in the site assigned as outlined in the essential duties and responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for adherence to the Cardinal Rules of Safety and company policies and procedures.
• Responsible for all product quality inspections and conformance to Stoughton Quality Standards, prints, work orders, procedures, work instructions/processes and other documentation required.
• Responsible to coordinate the activities and supervise the performance and attendance of Quality Support Monitors, Quality Team Leads, Quality Monitors, and other assigned staff.
• Perform coaching, mentoring, and training of direct reports to develop their skillsets, teamwork, and knowledge.
• Responsible to ensure that all quality staff utilize current forms and follow the current work instructions/ processes/ procedures in place to ensure compliance.
• Proactively champion suggestions to Quality Management regarding necessary changes needed to keep current with changing designs and quality requirements.
• Responsible to oversee quality completion of the first unit inspection process as required and participate and report deficiencies to Manufacturing, Quality Management and Sales as needed. Provide leadership in suggesting and implementing corrective actions for deficiencies identified.
• Responsible to effectively utilize the ERP and other systems to gather and summarize data to support issue corrective action and continuous improvement efforts.
• Responsible to ensure department equipment and tools are well-maintained and in good working order and anticipate the equipment needs of the Quality staff and submit justifications and obtain quotations as needed to Quality Management to obtain new or upgraded equipment.
• Responsible to provide reports to management regarding quality performance to defined metrics.
• Responsible to oversee the Critical Road Safety program and ensure audits are performed per the schedule in an effective manner.
• Responsible to oversee test and measurement equipment and their Calibration System are effectively maintained and calibrations are completed on time and accordance with requirements.
• Responsible to oversee the FHWA Inspector certification program to ensure conformance.
• Responsible for overseeing the collection of RFID information and ensuring the correct data is reported to the customer.
• Responsible to oversee the activation of tracking devices, cargo sensors, cameras, or any other similar type of requested equipment installed onto customer trailers.
• Responsible for sending requested data and reports as required to customers, vendors, sales department, and engineering.
• Responsible to oversee the tracking of Guard Shack yard quality checks.
• Responsible to assist overseeing result reporting and conformance of the Water Leak Test process.
• Responsible to perform a sales order review for future scheduled jobs as it relates to Quality.
• Responsible to perform product inspections, FHWA Inspection, rework inspections in Mod Center, calibration duties, Critical Road Safety audits, as qualified, to support the sales release of units and conformance to requirements as required due to absenteeism.
• Develop and implement effective inspection methods and practices.
• Perform internal auditing as directed.
• Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy.
• Attend scheduled work hours on a regular and timely basis. Maintain good attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.
