Job Summary

Mobile Modular, a well-established company specializing in modular building, is currently seeking a highly motivated Design Manager for our new Custom Modular Solutions team focused on custom designed permanent modular buildings, including site preparation and utilities. The Design Manager will prepare plans for planning, bidding, estimating and owner approval including presentation drawings and perspective renderings. Participate in all aspects of the project life-cycle from development to production.

Duties/Responsibilities of Position

Develop floor plans from the space requirements defined in a customer’s Program requirements including multiple solutions

Create and coordinate sales plans, 3D architectural visualizations, modified standards drawings, production drawings, and material specifications for RFPs and projects to meet strategic sales objectives.
Review building codes to ensure correct implementation of modular design

Perform design and plan reviews with internal teams and external customers.

Review shop drawings to confirm compliance with the design drawings and project intent

Develop and build drawing catalog

Responsible for project documentation, by gathering and organizing drawings, data/cut sheets and other submittals.

Provide support for technical questions by sales, operations and project teams.

Required Skills/Abilities

Professional experience developing schematics for structures in accordance with client specifications and safety standards.

Advanced understanding of building materials, techniques and processes with Modular and offsite construction.

SolidWorks 3D modelling in REVIT, AutoCAD and MS Project experience

Extremely detail-oriented and accurate with the ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast pace environment.

Ability to identify and solve complex problems

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Research and review new products, as needed for new product development, new code requirements, and material cost reduction efforts.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience in construction.

Technical Certification in AutoCAD and Revit.

Minimum 5 years Offsite/Modular Construction experience of experience commercial and multi-family construction

Extensive knowledge in construction materials

Occasional travel to job or client sites may be required.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
