Job Description

GENERAL SCOPE & SUMMARY

Aspect is looking for a Principal Engineer to join a team working on our industry leading Aspect Via platform that runs in the cloud. The team is delivering Omni channel reporting solutions into multiple cloud environments. This person must be a self-starter who thrives in fast-pace development organizations. This person will be working with development teams in India and North America to design, develop, test and support highly reliable software systems designed to run in multiple cloud environments.

Qualifications

Must have:

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in a software Development Engineer role


• Programming experience in one or more enterprise programming languages preferred (Java, Scala, C#, C++).


• Demonstrated experience in programming, performance tuning, source control and continuous integration tools


• Communication/documentation skills to work across multiple R&D teams across many timezones


• A solid background in automated unit testing, ideally integrated within a checkin/build/test process


• Be able to set and commit to time lines


• Reasonable knowledge of networking (DNS, firewalls, etc)
  
  

Strongly desirable:

• Experience with AWS technologies are desired, especially those used for Data Analytics, including some of these: EMR, Glue, Data Pipelines, Lambdas, Redshift, Athena, Kinesis, Elasticache, Aurora


• Big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra, Hive, etc.)


• Experience working in Agile development organizations


• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment environments


• Experience with the Atlassian toolchain (Aha!, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket/Git, Zephyr)


• Experience with alerting/monitoring cloud software with tools like Datadog, Sumologic, Splunk


• Experience with Amazon Web Services and other public cloud providers


• Technical experience with Kubernetes


• Experience leading a feature to completion


• Experience delivering containerized software

A plus:

• An understanding of design/test for high availability


• An understanding of call center applications
