AVP, Home Office Property Underwriter at Chubb in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey

Job Responsibilities:


  • Leading assigned CI Property initiatives,

  • Underwriting strategy development including new and current strategy updates,

  • Lead CI property field communication,

  • Management of assigned CI property projects. 

  • Underwriting tool management (ChubbNet, PUA, Risk Report, etc).

  • Property training leader

    • Perform property training for CAPS

    • Identify training needs by working with TUM’s and field leaders. Creation of training programs to address identified needs.



Additional responsibilities include:


  • Managing property referrals for designated industry practices / regions

  • Assist with Catastrophe Management process

  • Oversee property underwriting tools and identify ways to simplify where appropriate.   

Collaboration and working in a team environment with Home Office line of business/industry practice managers, Center of Excellence, Claims, Product Services, Operations, General Counsel and the field are essential

Knowledge and Skills:

Candidates for this position should have 5-10 years of underwriting experience.  They should have demonstrated technical expertise in handling complex package or mono-line property accounts.  They should have an understanding of commercial underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices.  Candidates must demonstrate a high proficiency in time management, leadership, influence, and project management skills.

Candidates must demonstrate a track record of results achievement, customer development, collaboration, teamwork, problem solving, analytical, and marketing/negotiation skills.  Candidates must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of business partners. 

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree
