SUMMARY OF JOB:

This position is responsible for handling a specialized area within the warehouse, focusing on quality control, safety, and production and being responsible for a certain group of employees working within the specialized area. Effectively makes recommendations to supervision on terms and conditions of employment relating to employees working in this specialized area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Assure company productivity and quality standards are met.


• Address and remedy employee complaints by effective recommendations to company supervision, regularly assign and direct work, prioritize work, schedule work. Effectively recommends disciplinary action, actively participates in performance evaluations, responsible for moving or transferring employees, temporarily or permanently, and exercising independent judgment in the exercise of these authorities.


• Assure that all company policies and procedures are adhered to.


• Share expertise and knowledge in areas of responsibility


• Ensure that work areas are clean and comply with safety regulations.


• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.


• Assist in orienting and training other warehouse associates.


• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.


• More than 5 years warehousing or similar experience.


• Specialized knowledge in an area of warehousing.


• Certified to operate forklift.


• Ability to lift 50lbs.


• Ability to read and comprehend customers' orders, bills of lading, etc.


• Basic math skills.


• Knowledge of computer software systems.


• Previous supervisory or lead experience helpful.
