Short Description
The professional flight nurse coordinator is responsible for the facilitation and coordination
of safe and comprehensive care to all patients in the pre-hospital setting and during
inter-facility transports by understanding and applying the specialized principles and
techniques of emergency rotor wing transport.
The flight nurse coordinator is the team leader for all patient transports and oversees the
performance of the flight paramedic.
The flight nurse will be engaged in procedure and policy development, performance
improvement activities, clinical competency activities and professional and community
outreach activities.
This position supports organizational goals by participating in safety oriented activities,
providing quality customer service, performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a
commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

Graduate from an NLN accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred | |
3 - 5 years critical care or emergency nursing experience. Previous flight and/or transport experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. | |
Required License/Certifications/ Registration: |
* Current New Jersey license as a Registered Nurse required * NJ Paramedic or NJ Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) required * CFRN, CCRN, CEN, TCRN, CTRN, or CPEN required o If candidates does not possesses CFRN, it must be obtained within one year of date of hire * BLS, ACLS, and PALS or PEPP certifications required . * ATCN required within 24 months of hire. * Current state issued driver's license required |
Must be physically able to work in all weather and environmental conditions, able to lift and move patients in all circumstance and perform all duties consistent with providing ALS and/or BLS in the pre-hospital or interfacility environment (air or ground).
