Job Description

The Preventative Maintenance Technician - Night shift will be based in Libertyville IL. The role of the preventive maintenance technician in a company involves carrying out various duties, tasks, and responsibilities to ensure machines and equipment doesn’t develop faults when in operation. This position also will assist Maintenance technicians with troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.

“This is a night shift position and you will be eligible to a $3,000 USD Sign On bonus.”

Position is located on the production floor, standing for up to 12 hours a day. Work with or around power tools, loud equipment and chemicals. Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:

Production Support:

• Preform preventative maintenance on production equipment, including mechanical, pneumatic and electrical systems, machining, and welding


• Routine preventative maintenance consists of but not limited to:


• Filter cleaning / replacement


• Fluid / grease level inspection and filling


• Equipment lubrication


• Equipment component cleaning


• Equipment solution changes


• Basic seal / gasket / hose replacement


• Component inspection


• Plant inspections


• Basic equipment / component repairs as needed


• Assist Maintenance Technicians with troubleshooting and repair of production equipment


• Diagnose and repair or replace worn parts in machine and equipment


• May assist in the installation of equipment


• Document Machine repairs on machines needed


• Reports to work prepared and on time


• Participate in OJT (On the Job Training) of maintenance technician tasks on a continual basis to obtain the necessary skills to progress into a EMT (Equipment Maintenance Technician) position

Facilities Support:

• Carry out routine check on company’s facilities


• Carryout regular preventive maintenance on facilities to mitigate major damage


• Complete forms, records and reports manually and online to document the status of maintenance tasks and repairs


• Supports the Mission of the organization and adheres to all company policies


• Performs other duties as directed

Here is some of what you’ll need (required):

• 2+ years’ experience in plant maintenance desired


• HS diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Solid hands-on mechanical skills


• Experience using a variety of tools and materials in machine and building maintenance


• Proficient with computers and online-based programs


• Must be self-driven to complete tasks on schedule with minimal supervision


• Ability to properly prioritize and pay close attention to details


• Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills are essential


• Strong emphasis on quality, productivity and safety

• Working knowledge of hydraulics, HVAC and electrical are desired


• Strong troubleshooting skills are desired, with welding and machining experience preferred
