Position Overview

The PACS Product Owner is responsible for developing, maintaining and troubleshooting systems related to a variety of external products that integrate with OCHIN’s EHRs or other systems. The Product Owner also provides technical assistance and mentoring to other team members and OCHIN members and part of the escalation process for product related issues/JIRAs. 

Essential Duties

The PACS Product Owner is responsible for:

  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the technical health and status or one of many ancillary integrated products:This entails: 

    • Collecting and owning issues to resolution

    • Putting together agendas for vendor calls

    • Representing OCHIN on vendor calls from a technical perspective

    • Owning the relationship and functionality

  • Understanding the business need for this product and having the capability to judge the success of a given product.  This includes:

    • Determining if the technology is working and speaking to whether the problem is under the vendor’s, member’s or OCHIN ‘s control

    • Determining if the product is meeting the business expectations set by the member and OCHIN

    • Determining if the product is being used optimally and if members are following recommended workflows

  • Participating in pilot meetings (as needed / appropriate) to gain background knowledge on product

  • Once Leadership team decides to move forward with operationalizing an master service agreement, participating in warm hand-off with the Innovation & Improvement Project Manager, Integrated Products & Services Business Analyst, and Director of Innovation Development & Partnerships

  • Working with Business Analyst to resolve any technical issues involved with new implementations

  • Following implementation, providing members with support for integrated products and services, including resolution of issues and escalations

  • Providing periodic reports to the Software Architect and Director of Innovation Development & Partnerships regarding JIRA issues / trends for each master service agreement product owned

  • Reviewing new functionality from vendor(s) (included product upgrades and enhancements) and provide a recommendation to the Software Architect and Director of Innovation Development & Partnerships regarding whether OCHIN should pursue implementation of these changes and updating related collateral guidebooks and training processes in conjunction with the Implementation team and Training team and ensuring Business Development has current information.

  • Escalating vendor issues as needed to their Manager and Director of Innovation Development & Partnerships

  • Provide elbow support to clinic staff during Go-Lives and Mock clinics as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in similar Senior Epic Developer Analyst role. 

  • 1 Epic certification/proficiency is required

  • Work history in Healthcare IT working with Epic is required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Healthcare Informatics or Computer Science preferred) or a combination of college education and 5-7 years of relevant experience.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with Epic My Chart preferred

Work Location and Travel Requirements

  • This position is 100% remote.  Work from home requirements are:

    • Ability to work independently and efficiently from a home office environment

    • High Speed Internet Service

    • It is a requirement that employees work in a distraction free workplace

  • Travel may be required based on business requirements for OCHIN Go-Live events, 1-2 trips per year
