Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Key Results Area:
Duties include research, evaluation, development, and application of new processes and methods into products. Responsible for establishing and conducting testing routines, developing or executing project plans, budgets, schedules, and documentation of work and results.
Responsible for working with development on manufacturability and assessing readiness of the product and process for start of production
Coordinate failure analysis to determine root cause and appropriate corrective actions
Apply statistical methods to characterize product performance for improved fact-based decision making
Identify methods of improving the productivity of existing systems, taking into consideration the use of latest technology
Develop and confirm test methodologies to validate product/process as it relates to new technology
Work encompasses one or more areas of engineering including electrical systems, mechanical, chemical, reliability engineering, failure analysis, tooling and/or other related fields
Consolidate and communicate current product issues and EC details to development teams for continuous improvement generation to generation
Product Engineer to work with New Product Development, Quality, Supplier Quality Engineering, and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering teams for new product introductions and ongoing support
Vendor support and interface on technical issues/topics
Develop and conduct engineering projects which will provide solutions to product issues consistent with solid Lean Quality Control principles
Evaluate and discuss product issues with plant managers and non-technical personnel
