Job Description

The Cost Coordinator will partner with the Plant and Project Managers, Cost Engineers, and Business Development staff and will be a vital member of the district management and accounting teams to provide financial advice, support, training, and problem solving.

Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to:

• Develop, analyze, interpret and provide internal distribution of financial information to convey financial results in terms of profitability and performance against budget and forecast


• Assist in the preparation of cost reports monthly and review with project managers to identify issues and confirm accuracy


• Review project accounting data to ensure timely and accurate upkeep and control


• Strive to understand the nature of the work/process/constraints


• Identify needs and train regional staff on accounting procedures as appropriate


• Coordinate and facilitate the monthly closing procedures within the region


• Monitor area accounts receivable and assist with collections as needed


• Assist in preparing for and running cost review meetings as appropriate


• Help locations prepare data for and respond to internal audit reviews


• Assist Plant Operation with Inventory Control


• Assist in development of annual budgets and strategic initiatives


• Set up and maintain accounting for job costs


• Communicate cost data effectively to all levels of supervision.


• Travel as required


• Carry out job duties while maintaining Lane values


• And other duties as assigned
  

  Qualifications:

  
  


• Prior experience in an accounting or engineering role is necessary but a degree in
  

  Accounting, Engineering or related discipline is highly desired

  
  


• Self-motivated, proactive, assertive and "client service" oriented with internal customers


• Excellent at multi-tasking and highly responsive to both internal/external requests


• Previous construction accounting experience preferred


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel


• Experience in JDEdwards preferred
