Job Description:

The Borrowing and Cost of Capital team is part of the Treasury organization at Prudential Financial. The team’s core responsibility is to manage the company’s funding strategy and cost of capital, which is used to support ongoing operations and strategic initiatives across the enterprise. This team is also responsible for executing on the company’s funding strategy by accessing the capital markets through various activities, such as debt and equity issuances.

The role is on a team that is uniquely positioned within the enterprise as the gatekeeper of key external relations as well as capital markets knowledge (both equity and debt capital markets) and opportunity to build one’s own professional network. Also, the role is one of the few roles within Treasury that gives exposure to topics from a corporate lens. This is a unique opportunity for someone to experience the development and execution of a funding plan from start to finish, while learning a variety of technical related concepts used to evaluate capital market opportunities. The individual will also have opportunities to lead process improvement projects and develop technology driven solutions to improve analytics. Furthermore, the candidate will have frequent opportunities to collaborate with various businesses and functions across the broader Prudential community and gain exposure to senior management.

Responsibilities


  • Monitor and analyze affiliated and unaffiliated borrowings for senior management, rating agencies and regulators

  • Assist with a broad range of capital market initiatives including debt issuances and share repurchases

  • Support the enterprise forecasting of funding plan and quarterly reporting deliverables

  • Partner with business units and corporate functions to ensure enterprise borrowing is aligned with target leverage ratios and other balance sheet risk measures

  • Develop and enhance analytics of key borrowing metrics and implement/automate dashboards to monitor borrowing activities

  • Identify and develop enhancements and efficiencies to key processes and workflows

Qualifications


  • At least 3 years work experience in finance, accounting or treasury field preferred

  • CPA and/or CFA preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Committed to continuous process improvement

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment

  • Team player and strong ability to be productive independently

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong knowledge of Obero, Sharepoint, Power BI, ATOM, and/or Tableau a plus
