Dura-Line is currently hiring a NEW Supplier Quality Engineer to play a key role driving quality and performance improvements with the supply base, proactively make improvements related to internal processes, and assuring that suppliers meet customer contractual and regulatory requirements. You must bring your demonstrable experience working with suppliers to reduce quality defects, proactively identifying and managing risks, support supplier/materials qualification, and lead procurement cost reduction initiatives to assure that applicable requirements are met and help improve our manufacturing plants quality performance.




What you will be doing in this role?



  • Implement sound, systematic problem solving and risk management protocols and tools with suppliers to identify, prioritize, communicate, and resolve quality issues

  • Monitor and measure supplier performance related to quality and costs of nonconformance.

  • Perform data analysis to identify and evaluate trends in product and process conformity and identify/assign appropriate corrective actions.

  • Evaluate contract proposals to ensure that the appropriate requirements are flowed down to the supplier as needed

  • Execute internal control processes including, but not limited to incoming materials quality requirements definition and flow down, material inspection and test reporting and reviews, procedure reviews, and quality inspection plans as needed.



This is a great position to help elevate Dura-Line supplier quality mentality and culture, thus you need to be able to drive and engage people in cross functional teams and partner with internal and external customers on Supplier Quality matters. You must have at least 5 years in a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) role in a manufacturing environment where you have participated in both organizational process improvements or similar activities with suppliers and lead suppliers through resolving discrepancies, including corrective and preventive actions as well as recovery plans.



What else can help you succeed in this role?
Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO standards, and national/international regulation will be key to build trust and credibility as you influence and partner with different stakeholders and drive long term success. A QMS Lead Auditor Certification or ASQ-CQA is preferred but not required; However, you must have some background in auditing manufacturing facilities and operational processes as you will lead or participate in Internal Quality Audits and Supplier Audits.
